*Sets cap*
Feb. 6th, 2008 03:02 pmOh. So all of El Capitan is booked for Friday through Sunday slots, entirely through summer. Period, end subject.
And then only opened reservations for it February 1st. *looks at calendar* DAYIM.
DID get the slot for Joshua Tree - I've got a campsite with a firepit, running water and bathrooms (bring your tent, firewood and everything else) for May 16, 17 and 18th. I've got room for four more people, one more vehicle.
You got a telescope, I make you cobbler in the Dutch oven. You pick the flavor. I'm telling you - if the weather is clear, the stargazing can't be beat.
Jim's been here eight years, and still hasn't seen the place. I may have a hard sell on the whole camping bit (yes, he IS a bit fussy about where he sleeps, clutter to the contrary), but once he gets there, I don't think I'll have any resistance. It is striking, and very different from camping "in the woods."
Okay, that's three so far:
San Diego Wild Animal Park - April 12th.
Joshua Tree, May 16th (that's a Friday pack-in) -
Polliwog Park, Easter Sunday
So far, so good!
