Hide your daughters.

I haven't killed any of the seedlings yet. So far, so good - but I'm pulling the reins on my hubris of dreaming of tomato sandwiches. Not yet, dummy. Not yet.
Kid continues to have Pokemon on the brain - he has yet to understand the need for grinding characters up to level before evolving some (come on, he's four), so right now? Right now I want that Arcanine, dammit. Do you have an Arcanine, Mommy? No, dear. Not yet.
It'll be something else in a few days. Trust me on this.
I remain in awe of durability of this franchise. Some things come close, but for sheer stickiness and staying power? Everyone knows this stuff, everyone (these days) has had contact with it and find someone who hates Pokemon. Go ahead. You may get a flip sneer from the jaded, but everyone has a favorite joke, story or character.
I need to weed the garden, but I don't think I'll be able to do it with boy present. I pulled a weed this morning while the two of us were watering - let's just say the boy will be a fierce protector, shall we? Boy, that weed didn't have a chance. He's four. Random stompiness will likely not be a good thing if I pull all the weeds like I want. ^^
He'll be playing with Dad while I work out there or something.
Jim is also down with tonsilitis - still on his feet, but running about half mast. Kid and I had yakisoba last night, and kid is asking for it again tonight. Gee. Make me do something hard, kid. Sounds just about right - but I'll have to stop at the market on the way home. Oh well.
My frustration level with trying to have a legitimate life with only two hours of time once kid is put to bed - and these hours are in the dark, folks - continues. About the only thing I can do with that time is play games with a lit screen. That's a DS or the laptop. If I sit down with the DS, I fall asleep. I'm reading books by flashlight. That sort of thing. Kid is displaying a modified form of 'I don't want to be separated from my parents' at bedtime - this is normal, but turning all the lights out and making the house quiet to help the transition of 'time for bed' for him does not make for productive adult time, neh? We've had to backtrack a bit in converting from putting him down asleep, to putting him down awake and sitting bedside while he falls asleep to putting him down awake and letting him settle himself down to sleep. Right now, the leaving the room bit isn't going over well. What I'm trying to convey right now is a handshake between 'I'm just in the next room sleeping, I'll be there when you wake up' with 'Look! I'm right where you left me!' the next morning.
Excellent advice gained at book faire still excellent.
I've had the pony, the plastic rocket and the cookie. Now I want - hmmm. I'd like a trip to LUSH. There. I'll probably be able to buy lottery tickets first.
