Mmmm....presents!
Sep. 16th, 2003 10:07 amAll I can get here is the German stuff, and it's just not the same. I actually like those Appenzeller biberli. A lot.
For the rest of you, think marzipan twinkie. With the twinkie as gingerbread. With strong coffee, it's just da best.
I got a tube of vermichelli (sp?) last week and went to cinnamon and chestnut heaven last night. I'm gonna go get some more - when Octoberfest isn't in full rage on the weekend over at Alpine Village.
Some stuff is definitely seasonal - thankfully, not all of it bad.
Thinking about Christmas presents. There are people on my list who are tough to buy for - but the good part is they usually go first. And since I shop year-round, I have a large amount of stuff already done. Why, yes - yes, I do. Even with the move from hell this year.
How much do I love giving presents? Bwahahahaaaa....
So! Answer up!

Lessee...Hannukah is early this year, I heard - *checks* - they lied.
I once heard that sleep dep is a powerful cure for what ails you - all I know is that I woke up this morning ready to alphabetize my socks.
And I'm stuck here in a programming freeze while they finish migrating to a new server. Covering help desk calls.

Cookbooks in German, about German/Swiss food? Or about any kind of food?
I'm sure we'll at least hit the local one, and hopefully ones in France and Germany (especially Lorrach, since it is so close and a *really* nice town)..but Josef's a shopping grinch, so I may be finding them on my own :)
