Saturday, yippee....
Nov. 23rd, 2002 05:29 pmI got the nicest wake-up call this morning. ^^
And spent most of the day waiting for Sis and her family to drop something by - and once they were gone, I looked to the sky and it was getting dark.
Get to work on the garage tomorrow, I guess. Poopies.
Jim is working nights this weekend - at least, this weekend, I brought the truck home and have wheels to get around. Am I using them? Ehh. Might. Need to get to the store to get a few things for Thanksgiving dinner next week.
But I'm in no hurry. This is one of the times I don't have to rush.
And I've got the second of five CDs I got in Hawaii in the player. It is nice, fluffy Reggae bouncy stuff that makes you think of Kailua boardwalks, mac nut ice cream and warm, steamy days. It's got a cover of "I Just Called" by Stevie Wonder that is fun all by itself. Another cut has a Pink Panther-esque intro. I oughta light some incense.
Working hard on not eating a whole lotta everything. So far, about halfway back to where I was before going to Hawaii for a week of Manago Hotel cooking. *grin*
BTW, it's the holidays world. Would you just care to remember that and quit fucking everyone up?! Grr.
But I should take my own advice. Sometimes, it isn't what you can hang onto - it's what you should let go of - lest it be torn from you, unwilling.
How the heck I ended up with Jim here everyday eludes me today. It was just too easy, I swear. Mom sent us a thanksgiving card, which arrived today. "Having family like you is one of the nicest blessings of all." WTF?
I keep telling him they like him better than me - we laugh - but my ghaaaad. They really didn't like Cliff - and it was mutual - but this is strange in its own way, y'know?
I'm not going to write again this evening - oh, no. I'm going to give my evening to that life-sucker of a device, the Game Boy. Jim wanted us to have them for the plane trip to Hawaii - and I found him a RPG to keep him busy. Me, I can cope with Tetris. But no, he decided I needed the RPG for myself.
So, now, I hand over every spare moment to the tiny glowing battery-eater. I need to go talk a character into kissing a frog. See ya.
