But I got done what needed to get done before Monday, so it's all good.

With all the spare time, one would think I'd be posting more, and more verbosely. Intelligently. With less whining.

Well, fergit about it.

As I was telling Jim this morning, we can go on like this indefinitely. We can keep paying our housing every two weeks, live in a space that is less than the size of my boss' office, do without creature comforts like an oven and a bathtub...if we can overlook the fact that our possessions are scattered in five different places, that the dog is driving my brother nuts and the cat is living life la vida pokeball....

I've found a new community - [livejournal.com profile] 50bookchallenge - I'm just wondering how many I'm shy of 50 right now for this year. I'd have to drag out all the books - wait, can't be done. *sighs*

Jim bought the new gameboy advance. The one that has rechargeable batteries and weights half what the original one did. If he isn't playing with that thing, he's got Worms for the PC and that's keeping him sane. Barely. You don't want to know how many hours he's put on Pokemon Ruby. I've put over 50 hours on Sapphire, and I know I'm about 25% of his total play time.

Wolf's Rain...wow. We watched the first three of them this morning. Every time Tsume walks away from the camera, the mental image of running up, grabbing the pants by the seams and yanking...then of course, running like hell would commence, and the idea of him trying to chase me with his pants around his ankles makes me grin maliciously.

What keeps me sane, I guess.

Work is demanding...and not, by cycles. The world continues to amaze, frighten and anger me in much the same way.

Buying habits change - instead of a grocery list, it's a grocery item. A bottle of shampoo, a bag of cat food for the boarder.

We plan. We went looking at kitchen appliances this morning. Drooled over home entertainment systems and bathtubs we could never justify having. Dreamed of backyard BBQs.

And we wait. Poor Jim, you don't have to look far - he's subdued. Like a flashlight running out of battery power.

I just don't think about it much.

Let it work. We can begin all over again with another house...but we want this one. We've seen ourselves in it, planned our lives with it.

Let it happen.
