Good grief - is there anything to compare these two shows against?

One was Star Wars for television; a fairy tale.
The other one is some conglomeration of Alien, Matrix, Borg and who knows what else...all in complimentary shades of charcoal.

Well, one had Lucifer the Electro-Conehead (with Flashing Disco Cone Action!) and the other had the Cexxy Cylon.

Mind, I have't watched any of the remake; the concept kind of scares me (besides, it conflicts with Robot Wars).
