Slightly less than bullet-proof

I went in early and sat down with the boss. We then sat down and chewed the situation over one more time - and I think we can away with some good stuff.

Mind you, the final word hasn't come down - and it may not at all. Michael tells me not to worry - and I just got started on a hot-to-trot project that if it goes well, will go a long way to redeem us all. I've got three weeks. I plan to make it count.

I've had one cookie, a Mrs. Fields - mind, but one cookie, singular today.

I'm going to bake some pumpkin bread for the holiday potluck tomorrow and bring the $20 gift I got earlier this week.

It may be weeks before I know for sure. In the meantime, there is plenty to do. That, more than anything, is a comfort.
