Oh, I wish. Last time I actually worked a faire, I was in high school and these guys took my school to court and made us change the name. You really need to have an in for these guys - and I was never cool. azuli is one of the few people I know who has had a good experience with SCA down here - mine with the group in Ontario was...scary...to be kind.
This one is in the spring - and I guess is now the only faire in California, bugger us all. It's also in the heart of the big burn from last fall and who knows what the place is going to be like this year.
Uh, no trees. Bring something to drink out and plan to wear lots of sunscreen. And a hat.
I don't know if I could make it down, unless Rey and Cat went (silly me, no car...) but there are several small Faires still running in various parts of California. The big Northern Faire is no more, but it was dying for years now. Not a big shock.
Rumor is that the vendors are now going to try and run the big Northern Faire. If they get it off the ground I see that flopping in no time flat. The Casa de Fruita location, while pretty, is too far away for people to want to go there.
People knew where Novato was. Casa de Fruita is this little oddball place off the pachecho pass that no one knows about unless they drive by it.
And as much fun as a juant to Southern Faire sounds, I can already say with some assurity that we won't be doing that this year. See my reply to Donna for full details.
