I think everyone in the department was up all night last night - this time, one of the "deadlineithastoworkorelse" servers died. Boss just looked at me every time he had to deal with me like he really didn't see me, and I really didn't have anything he wanted today anyway. I'm not entirely cool with that - but I think that was at least honest.
Good man, boss. At least he doesn't displace.
And. Every. Freaking. Moronic. Stupid. Dumb. Mistake. In the book came across my desk today. I may have made a couple myself, I can't tell yet - but good grief. Change the location on an order without confirmation from the customer and yeaaaah, they'll throw the ship notice on the floor and contact me, yeaaaaah. Send the tech who confirms the shipments home at 3:00 PM and then ship something to Hayward from Ontario at 6:00 PM and then confirm the shipment the next morning - but the shipments on the dock and they won't have notices for oh, gee. 18 hours? Yeaaaaah, that'll cost us in penalties, yeeaaaaah.
The corker was trying to figure out where a programmer had put test files on the test bed. "It's in the ticket." Duh. I went there first. The more I asked, the nicer I got, the more "it's in the ticket" I got.
Boss can tell me if it's in the ticket tomorrow. If I want to look like a total moron. A directory name, that's all I ask!
Postal, I tell you.
A co-worker had to put his dog down over the weekend. He hasn't been in since last Thursday. *sighs* That dog was his very best friend - might as well have been sentient. He's lost without him -
Another co-worker has spent two days between home and work with a kid having asthma attacks out of the clear blue. "Where's blah-blah?" "At home...or at the hospital." Oo. It'll wait.
I'm amazed I was so angry about not knowing where a stupid file was - smoke from another fire, and I'd better find it quick.
You ever had one of those agar agar desserts from the Asian market? Pretty nifty stuff for hot days and you don't want ice cream - one piece of advice. The package comes with a teeny fork. Don't toss the fork and reach for a larger tool, like a spoon. You end up slurping the whole mess straight from the bowl - messay!
Jim is having so much fun with Kingdom Hearts right now, it's as entertaining as the game. I'm going to need to go through the prologue again - I don't remember how to do everything anymore. Go right into the biggest baddie in the game? Uh, I need to go through training mode again, please. kthankx.
And Souplantation rocks on hot days - particularly when the nice lady comes around with itty bitty chocolate chip cookies hot from the oven. Nice grandma lady.
Hope tomorrow improves. It's going to be a long summer.
