It went quietly -
Jan. 26th, 2004 08:20 pmFor a Monday. Not bad at all.
The boxes got shipped. Yea.
I've got tracking numbers that UPS has no idea of. Boooo.
I rock.
being_homeless called me yesterday afternoon from her new house - I rank. It was wonderful. I could NOT be happier for her. We must have been on the phone almost an hour. When I think of how nasty things have gotten, I have to remember than in some cases, persistence and hard work DOES pay off.
I also called Cliff's parents today. Talked to Mom for at least half an hour. About nothing much at all. I have to work harder at keeping in touch - they really just don't know what to do with me. They have to know me - I have to keep trying. There are days I just miss them - just them. Just who they are and what they know and the questions they could answer for me. And his godparents are having a really rough patch right now too. I dropped them a postcard. I don't have their phone number handy and they've unlisted it.
Maybe next weekend when Jim is working, I'll take a drive out there and see how things are. I want to be that kind of person.
The weather here is perfect. Why are you all coming to visit? You folks are all getting snow and ice and crap - c'mon, the crowds are gone, the fares are cheap and it's DRY here.
I want my W-2. I want to see if we have enough money for Japan in March.
I also want the pony.

Date: 2004-01-27 07:47 am (UTC)It's not nearly the worst tax bill I've had -- state and federal together add up to well under a thousand -- but it's the principle of the thing. I specifically did the math and told them last year that they weren't withholding enough and they did nothing about it ("We know what we're doing, that's the proper amount, trust us"), so this time I'm going to fill out a new form and have them withhold an additional amount from each check (once I estimate how much that additional amount should be).
