Saturday Morning
Feb. 21st, 2004 07:35 am*Yawn*
*Munchmunchmunch* Eating breakfast cereal and watching cartoons. Hey, it's a tradition.
Want to see where we'll be staying?
We'll be there March 23rd through the 30th.
Today, we go get our JR passes down at Mitsuwa, and I hope a crash course in navigating that system (please, let them have timetables too!) -
That's getting there, the place to stay (that will feed us two meals a day at the worst), and transportation around town (minus using the subways). I have a good idea of how to get to most of the destinations on the list - now, to get Jim up to speed on it.
So far, no timeshare weeks have opened up in CH in the fall yet. Will keep the faith there and hope something does.
evilshell, if I can get my head arranged to call you at a reasonable hour, I still might - failing getting something in CH, I might ditch that plan and move to D - if any of those properties is close enough.
This week, the company stock went nuts. We're back on our way to the $15 dance. They also had a sample give-away - (
reannon, can the Kiddo wear a size 4 top?) yesterday, and I have some stuff to take over to the Hartman's - have to remember to ask to borrow the digital camera again for the trip. I'd like that, a SLR film camera and a videocam. And a sketch pad, colored pencils and wot.
I'm also thinking of reactivating the Palm.net account on my machine so I have some way of posting from Japan without having to find an internet cafe right off. Packing the laptops doesn't make a whole lot of sense - no access from the hotel at all. However, I don't write well longhand - maybe I'll get one of those detachable keyboards for the Palm. Hmm. Why, yes, I hope to get some writing done - 14 hours in a plane both ways, nothing else to do - ya think?
A flower press, to catch cherry blossoms with.
I'm dreaming of eating all the weird-ass Pocky I can find, walking in Ueno Park.

Date: 2004-02-21 08:41 am (UTC)I love my infrared keyboard. It cost $69 from PalmOne, runs on two AA batteries and despite me using it like mad over the last two months, hasn't needed new batteries yet. It takes a bit of getting used to - no number row, so you have to use an option key to do numbers - but I was able to get the hang of it in about three uses. Highly recommended.

Date: 2004-02-21 08:52 am (UTC)Now, I'm all nostagic for Japantown where I lived for two years in San Francisco. There was an old style Japanese bathhouse -- complete with little old ladies and rubber basins to rinse yourself off with. Then they sold it and turned it into an upscale spa. I miss the little old ladies. =0(
