Is it Friday yet?
Apr. 28th, 2005 11:35 amNo? Bugger.
Stopped by the vet last night to settle the account for Ralph - *blows air* - it's very likely they'd never say anything to us about it if we hadn't come forward to pay it, but that was close enough to $300 for an afternoon's acquaintance that makes no difference.
Good thing I don't have kids.
I also have my big annual physical with my primary care doctor tomorrow - I've put it off since January, hoping to go in with a little less weight and in better condition, but let's be honest. That hasn't happened, and it's time to get it over with. Blech.
A coworker in another department brought a price list down yesterday to show me "my worth" in another company's dollars and cents. They (the other company) sub-contracts it out, and it costs them about $49 a month, per customer. A little more with the .49 per transaction bump.
Yanno, I don't care if you can do my job with trained Sumatran monkeys off the coast of Malta. That does not make me a trained Sumatran monkey. 'Kay?
Biggest occupational hazard of this job is boredom - I swear it. That, between the periods of blazing panic, that is.
Yes, this position is heavily off-shored. I know it. My company doesn't believe in it, that's why I still have it.
And if I got off-shored? So would Doofus with his price list. So there.
Yeah, I talked to the boss about it. I was really wondering if I needed to get offended for a few moments -
I have a ton of things I'd rather be doing. I am sitting here like a good employee and looking for things to do. I need some diversion.
A few thousand dollars would be nice, too.
Think I'll go to Whole Foods for some cheese. How exiciting is that?
(I am burnt. Plain and simple.)
