I have a whole army of ronin outside. Ronin kitties of course. With the success of the bird feeders both front and back, it was a forgone conclusion - but still a little surprising.

Last night, a bold soul wanted a piece of Hiroshi and got a faceful of window instead. Checking to see who bonked, he saw me, I saw him, he processed "PEOPLE" and bolted.

White, blue eyes and filthy. Skeeeny. *sigh* Makes one think about cat traps.

[livejournal.com profile] doki, let us lift a glass to shit that works, shall we? After being at work all night Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, I sleep five hours when I got home yesterday and was ready to sleep all night beginning at 10:30 last night. Do I have a clue why the translator went down and wouldn't come up again? No. I should take some pictures of the enterprise Sun Sunfire server we downed to try and bring the translator back up - it worked - but we bounced that elephant like it was a piddly-ass NT box. Pathetic.

I'm baking goods for the bake sale on Saturday - they called me last night and we'll put a list of things together tonight. They have plenty of brownies. Gimme what you want - I know I want to bake a Loma Linda chocolate spice cake with sour cream chocolate icing. But the rest is up for grabs. I'm going to go find some disposable cake plates and covers so I can transport something other than cookies and sheet cakes.

But what are your favorites?

Grah!

Obviously, being thousands of miles away, I'll miss the event (I like cakes and cookies). ;_;

As a general bake sale suggestion for things to sell are needed, I'd tender lemon squares. It's the perfect season for them. ;)

Mmmm... good old-fashioned chocolate chip cookies. Non-chocolate spice cake. Meringues. (I bet no one else will think of these, and they're nice for the "oh I'm dieting" crowd 'cause they're lower in fat and all.)

At Christmas I went and bought a couple of $0.59 plastic serving plates at Goodwill. I used them to transport yummies to their intended recipients. I knew wasn't going to cry any over $0.59 plastic serving plates from Goodwill, if they failed to come home with me. Just a thought.

I agree with the lemon squares poster. Summertime is coming so lighter is a good idea, and something that's got a tart (or spicy) kick will win points with people confronted with lots of the same brownies, chocolates, etc.
