I caught one running out of the laundry room this afternoon. The dog was much pleased - and I've left the door open for her to keep going in there to flush any of his friends out of there. Not much for them to get to, unless they've gotten through four layers of rattan and canvas to get to the dog food (likely) - so no biggie. If they want soap, they're welcome to it. Everything else is behind either glass or metal.

And Orkin so owns their little butts next Monday. With all the ronin around, I'm surprised - but leaving the door open should solve that problem as well.

Typical Monday.

Not much more substance, I'm afraid - I think I'll have to take a page from [livejournal.com profile] reannon and finally join that writer's club my friend Marian belongs to. I need the audience and the push to get behind this thing again. I know I can write well - problem is, I rarely have a good reason to do so. I have plenty of good reasons to do most of the things that take up the rest of my day - time to put the things I want to do well up there with them.

The more I think about the gym, the more I remember how bored I was. I need something I want to do to get more exercise - I could utilize a personal trainer, but I'm already bored senseless. I could be bored and wasting someone else's time and my money hating the whole thing. *growse*

Mom turns 79 Wednesday. Next year, the traditional 80th birthday party is a must. Mom has been older now than any other relative she knew - I think I knew of a cousin of hers who lived into their 90's - but even the "long-lived" women only made it into their early 70's. Her uncle lived to be 97 - and I met him at 92, and while he was bald as an egg, he had the most vibrant, engaging blue eyes I'd ever seen and he was fast enough to take the check away from Mom at lunch. I could handle having Mom around that long if he had the same quality of life. I sure hope so.

But I've been given the task of organizing the birthday party. Me. Well, I'm in good company with everyone on my list planning weddings - this portends to turn into a major family reunion as well. And while us siblings can make do, it's the spouses who make life interesting at these kind of functions. (Hint: that's the understatement of the decade. Or two. Nearly three, actually.)

I'm trying to find out who work used to plan their company parties - they were fantastic, and I can use all the help I can get.

Weekend was the Escaflowne wank - finally broke down and rebought the series on DVD. Did I get through all of it by sleeptime last night? Just about - just could not keep the eyes open for the last two episodes.

But I can't help but wonder yet again. It's a television series. It's one season of a television series - all that backstory, all that depth and texture, for just 26 episodes. And the music. Mmmmm. Just close my eyes and drift off.

Anime's BEST psycho bad guy, bar none. You want Senor Psychopath, look no further than Dilandau - I'd forgotten how deliciously nutso he was. Bishie gone bad like outdated yogurt. Yup.

*thinks* Continue rambling or go to sleep?

I've come across a license I don't think anyone's gotten yet - Pichi Pichi Pitch. Could be seriously bad. Mermaid princess idol stars. Terminally cute. [livejournal.com profile] miwasatoshi, is this on the review list by chance?

And the beat goes on.

Ah, sweet sweet Dilandau. I proved to all the world a while back that if ever there is a liveaction Escaflowne movie, Elijah Wood should play the role. Proof?

A really rushed photo manip from a Homocide screen cap. Ah, completely fantastical fangirl gushing.... ~_^

Continue rambling or go to sleep?

That depends... are you in danger of waffleface? If so, sleep. If not... ramble. *g*

I should probably ask you to show Escaflowne and Card Captors (which I caught when it was on Kids WB but kept forgetting when it was on or sleeping past it...) when you have time for visitors again. =)

Oh baby - you haven't seen what WB butchered to make Card Captors out of?

Card Captor Sakura, to give it its proper name, is one of the most charming anime out there. If you can get your head around the fact the main character is in 4th grade and saves the world more often than the Powerpuff Girls. It's also CLAMP, so it's gorgeous - and what the WB did to it ought to be a crime.

It's also three seasons - you'd better have your Wheaties before coming over.

Hmm. Sounds like you could definitely spend some time over here, neh? That would be *fakes a pose* so terrible!

Heh.

Well, I figured the WB probably did quite the butchery job on it... but I liked what I saw anyway.

And as for a 4th grader saving the world... what, you never wanted to save the world when you were in elementary school? I know I certainly did. =D

So, sure, would love to spend more time around you and your family as it is. =)

I started watching "Mermaid Meoldy - Pichi Pichi Pitch" for the hell of it, kind of the way I watched the Sailor Moon live action J-drama when a friend sent it. Pichi is very cute, made for young girls obviously, but it's entertaining. They were trying to be like "Full Moon wo Sagashite" but the story is much, much simpler.

The bad part is that I actually want to watch the whole thing. I think it's because deep down I'm a sucker for romance anime/manga. You just gotta know what happens ^^

I found the first issue of the manga over in Japan, then found it in its weekly magazine, got a copy of that - then I keep running into the merchandising goods, even after I get back home. The NewType says it already has an anime (which you've gotten to see, obviously) and from the episode count, into its second season at the very least.

Someone is going to license this thing, so far it's the only one I've seen that hasn't been yet.
