kyburgI'm wearing my "God is Still Talking" UCC shirt that I got at Mom's church the last time I was there.
I'll wear it to that No on 8 rally and be proud. Oh very yes, I will.
What does one do for a seventh anniversary? Spend the night away from home in a Priceline special (wish we'd been able to get further away from home, but Manhattan Beach isn't anything to sneeze at), walk to dinner at Johnny Rockets, check out the Fresh N Easy on the way there and back (nifty!) and then spend a quiet evening...gaming. On our own laptops. I couldn't help comparing this with Cliff, who wouldn't be happy unless there were bodily fluids flung on all the walls...and then was pissy when I wasn't into accommodating all that. Oh, all that talk about FOREPLAY and what I WANTED. Oh THAT.
*ahem*
I got the right baby, uh huh!
He provided me with something I'd never voiced - my own set of kokeshi dolls. Well, not traditional ones, nor old - but I'd kinda of looked at them longingly in the stores and talked myself out of them routinely. These are more appropriate as bric-a-brac, but it's a coupled pair and they're adorable.
Then he brought out a hand-blow glass candy dish in the shape of an overturned hat. Something I'm going to have to find a place for with all the other breakables for safe keeping - a Boy is coming, after all.
Me? He got something traditional for this anniversary.
He got stock.
Well, yes - one piece. Of Pepsico common - when I asked what company he'd want stock in (we already have Apple, Disney and Mac Nut stock) - he said Pepsi.
It's a good time to buy, so I did.
We had probably first rain this weekend - when I got home this morning, I went out to move some laundry around and the dampness I'd noted last year in the joint between the patio cover and the house has turned into full-blown leaks. Yay.
So I have this guy coming out after work tomorrow to give me a quote. If there is anything I know about house repair, is that you don't give leaks time to get worse. There's no money for this. Oh well. Story of my life.
