kyburgGot a call from the adoption agency this afternoon - no, not related to the readoption paperwork I just spoke to the office upstate about yesterday.
No, it's about the grant we got in March, shortly before going to Taiwan.
Now, the thank you card was one of the priorities I carved out of the time I had to get things together, it was VERY important that the grant be acknowledged, but I believed that it was ALSO important that we get our stuff together to actually...you know...be ready to go get the kid?
I know I also called the office upstate and asked them if they needed anything more than that. They said no, and wow - great card!
Office down here called this afternoon and "reminded" me that they needed their thank you letter. Like, NOW.
I managed not to bray like a donkey, but I did chuckle. I've been sick since we got back in March, thank you. I had four days (but had already broken my foot) after we got home from Taiwan before I got sick and I've still got some bronchitis left over today from it - nonstop - since then.
If you asked me for anything and you didn't get it, that might be why. If you told Jim, he didn't tell me or do anything with your request. How long ago? Oh, you don't remember. Or who you talked to. Riiiight.
I wrote something, faxed and will mail the original. But I'm just about out of temper over it. I'm supposed to go into great detail about how this was SO helpful to our situation.
Okay. Considering the amount of documentation, and the number of times I wrote, and rewrote the request letter (and chased down the reference letters), the time spent on this request really did not bear a great deal of benefit. Times are tough, we understand that and there were demands on the fund - we also understand. We asked, we got - much less than we were led to believe would be available, but we didn't grouse about it. Anything helps. Anything did.
But guys - you didn't even cover the hotel room. Not meals, not toys or clothes or anything. Not documentation fees, not cab fare -

I think I'm going to have a nice talk with a doorknob now.
