Round Two - FIGHT!
Jun. 21st, 2009 08:07 pmSaturday afternoon, after taking a three hour nap, we found the kid had a temp. A rather alarming one of 102.5, clear out of the blue.
Coming so soon after the step, my alarm bells went off and into Urgent Care we went.
Except the wait was shorter in ER - so we moved.
Blood, urine, x-rays - more cultures, and some Tylenol on top of the Advil we've been giving.
Get cleared for anything related to the strep (did I mention he was rechecked not 24 hours prior and given a thumbs up? Right. Moving on...), we go home, put him to bed about 10:00 and he wakes at about 2:30 AM with 104.5.
We call after hours, we take appropriate actions - and get him in this morning at 9:00. Again, we confirm this is most likely viral and unless something else shows up in the meantime, allow it to run its course, and treat symptomatically.
UH. Father's Day? Right. Fergettit. And Jim is working sick on top of it - yet ANOTHER bug, from all appearances.
We just put him to bed, drugged to keep the temp down to nearly normal - let's hope he falls off fast. Jim needs the rest.
Me, I'll be up a bit later.
The boys are home sick tomorrow - me, I get to go to work.
Sis will be here tomorrow night - that's something, I guess.
