So random it hurts. Take your drugs now.

Am I the only one who looks to see if the date is 1979 on pennies I find in the street?
Coming Out Day on Sunday, and I'm in church. With a whole bunch of little old ladies wearing pink triangles. Yes, I am in the right place. Next Sunday, it's blessing of the animals and they're holding services outside so the pets can attend as well. (I'm calling Sis and seeing if she can bring the chocolate lab with the impeccable manners. That, and because my kid calls Kahlua 'Kahloola' isn't a reason, no it isn't. And is terribly smitten with both Sis and the dog. Oh no. ^^) They also approve of my Boxer in 2010 button.
Sunday was the social calendar of the month. From church, we went and had our traditional lunch at McDonalds - home for the nap, which he took like clockwork - and fifteen minutes after he wakes up, I get a call from
nytshaed, who is in town for Haunt and dolls and let's get food! Okay. We've had food, but we're always up for snacks at Marukai's scramble area - which has awesome lunch - so we go. BTW, Japanese tea cakes are now called 'squishy cookies' - just so you know. (They didn't have any suitable 'cookies' that kid would nom, so. Squishy cookies, and Dad got most of them.)
THEN,
kiyone and
catsonmars called - they're back from Mexico and dinner? Suuuure!
This time around, success was had by giving kid plain spaghetti, meat balls without any sauce and that was nommed with great abandon. Win. We can start doing Curry House again.
Came home, put to bed and died. Yay Sunday. I survived.
Want to make sure you go back on plan? People of Wal-Mart. Seriously.
Related news: read an article about 'why your cold won't go away' and reason numero uno? 'Not enough sleep' - dingdingding. And what do you do to stay awake when you haven't gotten enough sleep? Why yes, you eat. So being sick all summer, adding a LOT more trips to McDonald's than any reasonable person should, and just munching to stay awake? Yup. I'm up about 10-15 pounds, and going to take steps ASAP to get this back under control...as it would appear some other things are coming back into line as well. Like, routines.
And also ordering kid's meals for myself as well as the kid. ^^ (Hey, two toys!)
Another thing Twitter has taught me - the perspective of 'I really like YOU - more than your job/books/music/whathaveyou' - and I didn't expect that. Kind of makes things awkward at the same time.
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days? Dude. Roxas is a bigger emo whiner than Tidus and that's saying something. I am also intrigued by the idea of formulating a recipe for sea-salt ice cream. *slaps self*
Went out to Oak Glen on Saturday and treated the family to a huge slice of my childhood - namely, apple cider donuts, high school jazz band serenades (ow), pumpkin patches, road dust and burn areas. Xander will be going back to school tomorrow (today, it's a holiday. For him. For Dad, it's a sick day. Shhhh.) telling his friends how he got to see apples ON THE TREE COOL. (And he also discovered stickers. And me telling Jim those grow tumbleweeds.)
I have Jonagold and Fuji apples in my refrigerator, and a number of Christmas presents. With a box to keep them all in! (Need to get this organized.)
And I'm looking at my calendar and see something hitting every weekend in November. Next one? I has Hank. This is good.
I've also ordered patterns - one for a bear suit for Xander's Halloween costume. Bear suit very flexible. Can be Oso. Can be Perry. Can be Stitch - just change color. Additional win is that it's warm enough to wear without additional coats and such. Now - when am I going to cut it out and sew it? Yeah, that.
Still gobsmacked we lost Charlie, and let loose an F-bomb in the parking lot this morning about it.
Since Sunday was Social Whirl, no marketing or meal planning. Gotta hop - and get to Monday, already in progress.
