Keep in mind, I was born in 1960. By the time women got the vote in Switzerland, I was eleven years old. I was in fifth grade, had been writing poetry for years and had already been on the newspaper staff for my school. (Ditto masters, anyone else remember them?)

That's when women got the vote. Period. Some of the elections in some places? Not until 1990. You remember the eighties, right?

Guess what.

There are now more women 'presidents' than men.

In a country more conservative, richer, OLDER (hooboy, almost three times as old as our democracy and they never knew a monarchy), with more languages and traditions than many others - they've put more women in power than men.

I'm still waiting to see this with the SCOTUS, but there's hope. If we can't get it right, there are places that can.

(Compare that to the 'conservative women' currently in our CW and wince.)
