Population of my home town as of 2000 1,272. If I'm not mistaken that's roughly twice what it was when I was born. *sighs* And it shows.

What I found most interesting were the demographics - median age in Hemet is now 45 - when I was growing up, it was 67.

Check how many are living below the poverty line, too.
