I've been doing it wrong
Aug. 14th, 2002 11:20 amYesterday, due to MTA suckage, I drove all the way into work. I took an alternate route from the end of the Green Line that saved so much time I was shocked.
Then I took it home - adding it to the alternate route I now use to the Green Line station.
Leaving at 4:45 PM, I was home by 7:00. I haven't been home that early in years.
And I never touched a freeway.
Listen - skip the diamond lanes. Skip the trains. Take surface streets with some patience. It works.
It's not a drive I would recommend someone who likes driving 55 or faster - you will be hitting the brakes too much.
But at 35 MPH, you never stop. Absofuckingamazing.
For comparison sake - normal drive time at least 2.5 hours - at least. Add a fuckup anywhere along the line and you add an hour.
And the best part? Jim - and Jim's spaghetti at the end.
Jim makes damn good spaghetti.
