Want to proclaim to the world that yes, you are a total forty-something fan of a defunct television show that hasn't been aired in primetime in more than twenty years?

Show your "Emergency" knowledge - that it had a spinoff called "Sierra" - and you saw the one crossover episode! FAN FICTION CONTEST!

I'm going to go hide under my bed now.

Yes, I remember both shows. Fondly.

But...the slash. It's inevitable.

I mean. I can't see it. I can't.

Boots would never do it with Chet. Nevah.

Well talk about feeling old, you remember Dixie, right? The head nurse at the hospital? Well she started out as a singer YEARS before that. I still have an old 45 (thats the smallest of the VINYL disks that we old farts used to put up with for our music) of her singing "Cry me a River". She had/has (is she still alive?) a hell of a voice!

Sadly, she and her husband (Bobby Troop who played Dr. Early) has passed away - and he played a mean trombone, back in the day - remember?

Oh she could sing a tune, that gal. I remember.

He wrote "Route 66" for her.

I had odd TV access back then. I'd have it for a couple of years, and then not, then again, then not. So I watched most early Emergency, not as much later, and not Sierra. I had it bad for Randy.

Watching the show now makes me cringe. "Ew, lady reporter following us around, invading sacred male space!" :)

What I recall is how the nursing profession changed during the course of that show's run - from dresses and caps to pantsuits and no caps - among other things.

It was the seventies - *laughs*
