Let me know if the dog doesn't find another home and I'll foster. I can probably find a working home for that mix, too, if she has any herding instincts at all. Several of Deb's friends have dairy herds.

There is always room for another dog at the Hill, and we understand puppies.

If I wind up taking Zoe because there are no more local options, I don't know whether I'd foster her and find the right home, or keep her here at the Hill. It could go either way. But I'd take responsibility for finding a great home if charlesks and I decided to re-home her. I'd work with Deb, who is my best friend and dog breeder, to find a good family *and working* home for her; a dog that smart and active needs a job, or the dog gets bored quickly. I am quite sure there are friends of hers who would love to have this dog to herd cattle as well as be part of the family.

I did promise charlesks that we (probably) wouldn't have more than five adult dogs living here long-term, but we only have two now. A breeder in Nova Scotia still owes me a Toller bitch puppy; I intend to breed Tollers eventually, when I have one who is worthy of breeding. (Sky has a tendency to shyness. She's spayed.)
