I read a theory once that since it is around the time Buckbeak is being sentenced to death, he’s most likely there to fight for him and also probably support Hagrid whom is also a kindred spirit because he knows how hard it is to watch the creatures that you love be despised and persecuted and I’m not okay
I’ve seen this post before but that addition is not okay I’m crying over here.
Now what I’m picturing is Dumbledore floo calling Newt to say “Hold the emergency rescue plan, I’ve got a better idea, imma mess with the time stream and send a pair of thirteen year olds to save him.”
To which Newt says: “Really.”
“Yass really, and they’re going to jailbreak out a convict and save him too it’s all good.”
“… Screw it, sounds good to me. Where should I wait for them? I’ve already set up a temporary habitat for Buckbeak in the case until I can get him somewhere better.”
“No no, don’t you worry about it, the convict guy is going to ride the hippogriff to freedom and somewhere that has tropical birds and it’ll be good.”
“Albus.”
“Or, I thought Buckbeak could live in attic for a bit, I’m sure he’d like that.”
“Albus no.”
“Is that the minister? I think that’s the minister. Time to go and be cryptically and infuriatingly not surprised when our convict escapes. Tata Newt, talk to you later, Fawkes sends his love. Albus out.”
