I mean, women being dragged out of sweat lodges before the sacred space is destroyed, journalists being arrested, violent assault so far leading to many serious, serious injuries, and sadly enough you all think this is “over.” We had our five seconds of fame as long as we could be used as the “noble savage” prop for all non-native activists.
Also, US Border Patrol and Customs, the National Guard, and fascist Bureau of Indian Affairs Agents are at Standing Rock with militarized vehicles. We keep talking about what America will look like a year or two into a Trump presidency, we keep talking about “America will become a war torn country” but how can you look at Standing Rock and see that for us natives, it has always been this way. The Indian Wars never ended.
That second to last picture of the tents and tipis being burned were set on fire by the natives and they did so because they would rather do that to offer thanks to their temporary dwellings than let the officers come in and destroy them disrespectfully i say this just to clarify that the national guard arent setting tents on fire and to avoid the spread of misinformation.
