We've got wind advisories out for just about the entire state - now, if it doesn't get blown over, it gets roasted as these are the Santa Ana winds, and they're like being blown over by a breeze straight from the oven.

80 degrees. You wrap your head around that while you go look for a Christmas tree. Go right ahead.

In the meantime, it looks like a picture postcard around here.

Look up, and see the Goodyear blimp flying right overhead - so close, you can wave at each other.

Got to get my morning call into Mom - last night, I was talking to her about getting about and getting ready to go home - she's going to take a walker home, but I said she'd have to let it get in her way before she'd feel ready to give it up, and that was okay too. Looks like they tweaked her shoulder in surgery, probably the same way they tweaked Cliff's - hyperextended it and put a BP cuff on. His surgery was five hours, Mom's was eight - right - yeah, they tweaked it. Wonder what the X-rays will show.

I haven't heard a thing from older brother. Nuthin'. Not even a response to the email.

Ah well. Like much would change if he didn't say a thing ever again. That sucks, but he asked for it as well.

Never let it be said I don't give people what they want.

Tonight is company Christmas party. Cross all your fingers - it should be bonus day, too. Hope I get one.

I've lost jobs on this day, too - years past.

And I'm getting ready for Christmas Eve - that looks to be the big point for the year!

(Turkey or Ham? Grilled cheese sandwiches? Hmmm....)

I make "snowmen" out of tumbleweeds, painted white with spray paint.

Not so bad except for the prickles -

Hmmm... this is just my family, but we had a tradition of Cream of Asparagus soup, and a cheese, meat, and cracker platter. Very yummy, albeit simple, and a rather nifty atmosphere when dining by candlelight with family. *shrugs*

I'm thinking IKEA swedish meatballs in the crockpot for lunch - it's dinner I'm a little wafflish on yet.

I try not to make anything that requires leverage to eat - like steaks or the like - there just isn't table space for as many people as I expect every year.

Sushi rolls - or pizza - croissant sandwiches. I'm not sure yet.

Just a word of warning: I dont eat turkey or chicken...

Most other things are okay.

Although, I'm deathly allergic to artificial sweeteners (and Splenda)
