Just think this, it was down long enough to fix it for monitoring or any other such means of 'watching' by the defenders of the 'patriot act'.

No, I say. Trust me on this one - let me put the kabosh to such thinking right here.

There was no time or equipment available to do anything to the LJ service but restore and bring it up. And they were going as fast as they could as it was, even with the extended outage.

Me, I was remembering a night in April last year when I spent the entire night up with techs trying to bring my translator up - over a crashed database. No, no and no - what it does point up rather painfully to me is that Internap is now the point on what should be the most rock-solid, trustworthy organization. And caused a power outage that crashed a whole organization - brought it to a standstill for over 24 hours.
