The woman who claimed she found a finger in her bowl of Wendy's chili last month has been arrested, the latest twist in a bizarre case about how the 1 1/2-inch finger tip ended up in a bowl of fast food.

Anna Ayala was taken into custody late Thursday at her Las Vegas home. She was arrested on a warrant alleging grand larceny and attempted grand larceny, Las Vegas Police Sgt. Chris Jones said.

I'm sorry. I never believed her. The whole thing sounded waaaaay off. The bullshit detector pegged on this one.

Looks like she has a history of this - and using her children, to boot.

The one thing that catches my eye, though - sales at Wendy's are off over this - and it may have been some time since I worked fast food, but when I did, I needed the work.

We fondly refer to Wendy's as Wendy's hot-n-greasy - but the founder was an adoptee, and a strong supporter of adoption - and we miss him.

Lunch at Wendy's. It sounds pretty good. Yeah.

Sorry, what'd you say? I had the chicken strips special at lunch today. It's about the only fast food chicken I can eat without fear, and it's way better than Burger King hamburgers. Been going to Wendy's for my fast food pretty much since the finger thing (it helps that it's right between the exit from my building and the nearest subway station).

Poor buggers.

yeah my BS-detector went off on that one too.... like lots of people, I worked fast food and I just couldn't imagine how in the WORLD an actual digit could get into the food. I mean, it's not like a fingernail that can come off without a person knowing it... it's not like they'd have such an injury at a store and say "oh you were working on the chili? don't worry about it, we'll just serve it up! Now let's go look for the finger"

C'man... we shouldn't be that stupid. yet people stopped going to Wendy's because of that? Silly... I don't go to wendy's becuase my kids prefer BK and I personally don't eat fast food unless forced to. I might go buy some though...

I like Wendy's too, actually.

Not as fond of their chili, but I feel that chili shouldn't have beans in it, not due to this stupid fake story.

I never believed her either, to be honest. There is very little way something like a finger could have gotten into the chili.

my fave order - when I'm hungry - is crispy chicken nuggets (99 cents), and a big bacon classic combo.

I confess to having a habit of boycotting Wendy's, but that was long ago when I found out Dave Thomas was opposed to same-sex couples adopting children. I'm more flexible about going there since he died.

You know, I hadn't heard that one - but I still refrain (after oh gee, twenty years now) from going to Carl's Jr./Hardees - Carl Karcher was the fellow who owned the company (good ol' Orange County, doncha know) that actively diverted profits to anti-homosexual agendas, back in the day of Anita Bryant.

You want to do something constructive, I have no complaints. You want to pay people to actively discriminate, I have a problem.

Wendy's is the only one of the big 3 fast food chains that I like getting food at...probably because it's also the only place that gives you a big honkin' meat-free salad (Spring Mix Salad w/ pecans...yum!). And Frostys rock.

I'll settle for Checkers if all I want are fries and a shake, though.

I knew that was utter crap. If somebody lost a finger, there would be the pain, screaming, etc. Everyone would stop to look for it. Lots of time they can be put back on, fer crying out loud.

Much as I avoid the soul and mind sucking insanity that is local news, even I couldn't avoid this one. OMG these idiots have been SPOOGING all over this story here in Vegas. You'd think it was the most riveting tale ever by the way they highlight and tease it. Sheesh.

Although there was a decided doubtful slant to their coverage. Lots of stuff about how the woman had sued some restaurant before for somethingorother (I wasn't paying close attention). She seemed to get irritated by reporters' questions a lot and shout at them.
