He'll be missed. But, you know, in a way it's a blessing that he didn't linger with the Alzheimer's longer than he did... If you've ever been in an Altzheimer ward of a nursing home (the locked unit) you know why I say that.

I watched my great-grandmother succumb to progressive senile dementia over a period of about five years. It was at least three years too long.

I'm sorry I didn't get to go to the Farewell Convention last year, coinciding with getting his star on the Walk of Fame. But this way, at least, my memories of him are from the films, and from meeting him in the 80s.
