Happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] weemallard, [livejournal.com profile] honormac and [livejournal.com profile] cecylyna. Post something or I'll nudge you.

*hangs head in shame* I love the new nudge feature. Yes, I have used it already. Yes, I will likely use it again. Soon. Somebody stop me.

Burning stabby hate directed towards the vendor who said they still had MarioKart DS bundles, even took my money - and never shipped the item. Found out yesterday and at lunch, went out to Target and got a non-blue DS, went home and slapped a Hello Kitty sticker on it. THERE - that's my custom DS and that's the end of it.

Also have AC:WW for both DS' in the house - and I've got my Nintendogs up and running already (Corgi!).

It's so nice it goes in the purse like it does. Just what it needed - another paperweight.

There will likely be some notes that will go behind a filter later today - but last night was the last night of therapy, and unless something else goes awry that I didn't see coming, we're going to get our certification sometime this week or next at the latest.

Just like that. Yeah, I'll be certain when it's in my hands - even though everyone is assuring me that it's in the bag. Hello, two years in the works!

We have orientation with another agency on Saturday - a private agency that does nothing but international placements.

Last night was dinner at Lucille's, which included beer. Beer was veddy veddy good. (So's the ambient music too - let alone the food.) Went home, popped the heat pack into the microwave, then tucked it in at the foot of the bed and snuggled in to get acquainted with my DS. Jim's just waiting for that Pluto mission to get underway - I fell asleep watching him reading the website.

[livejournal.com profile] catsonmars is coming over tonight before heading back to school - wow, nothing says the party's over than going back to the grind parties.

And now, I go to work.

I have two Nintendogs: a pug and a dachshund. And I'm horribly addicted to MarioKart.

[livejournal.com profile] theangryrobot has a theory that Nintendo is the Apple of the video game market. While the comparison is not exact, there's certainly something to it.

I've seen that postulated on Joystiq.

What is this "nudge" of which you speak?

It's this new feature. According to some, it's evil and should be destroyed. *shame*

Yeah. I think one baby will be very lucky to have you and Jim as parents.

(If you need it, I can recommend an agency out of Texas that friends have dealt with also.)

If it's Great Wall, it's not them - but I'd love to hear more about their experience if it was.

They kind of scared me, actually.

It's this one:

http://www.asasatx.org/

Alan's "cousin" Jeff that I talk about was adopted from there.

*looks* *nods*

It looks like they're entirely domestic-oriented - and very state-centered. It also looks like they're not certified to work in CA - which is not surprising.

One thing that kind of jumps out at me from all of these adoption sites are the tons of things for adoptive parents - and then, down at the end of the list there's something to the tune of "Pregnant? Need help?"

Um.

Oh well. Both people I know who adopted through them are in NJ, but both boys are of Mexican descent (probably just here to be born).

Hip hip huzzah! Hip hip huzzah! Hip hip huzzah! And about time they gave it to you, too. You and [livejournal.com profile] unclejimbo will make stellar parents, and any kid(s) who winds up with you two as mom and dad will be lucky.

Conceptually, the idea of nudge really bugs me.

It kind of did the WTF thing with me too, then I saw the list of journals in descending order by how many weeks had gone by without updating. Anyone over 52 weeks? *poke* You still alive over there? YO!
