We couldn't wait last night - Jim couldn't get the present into the bag, so he presented me with the wand o' chocolate dipped strawberries. I showed him the fabric I got him to make new scrub tops out of - Pokemon prints. (And oh yeah, I also got a blue Hawaiian print as well.)

However. I've been warned that more is coming - and I can assure you, his day is not over yet.

And I don't have enough time alone to be stealthy anymore. I had enough time to get out, get the pattern and notions and wash the fabric. Cut it out? Sew? The universe laughs at you.

I know what I want to get. Trick now is finding it.

And I have dinner tonight. Hmmm. I think it's going to include seafood of some caliber (probably shrimp) - and I may introduce Jim to smoked oysters, the way I like 'em. Out of the can, on crackers with mayonnaise optional. Don't look at me like that.

I'm not going to care if Monster Whatever is on tonight. Fuckitall.

It's not mine - I found it in a list of comments for a Sims2 post. *grins*

So much for dollie people being idiots, neh?

Dinner tonight will be really good steaks from our organic beef, vegetables (quite possibly with hollandaise sauce - I make fantastic hollandaise, and it's the reason I have a double boiler), brown rice, and for dessert, a huckleberry pie made with Splenda. Charles doesn't know about that pie yet, but he'll figure it out soon enough.

Someday, we won't be able to eat chocolate cake. Maybe.

I'm not hedging my bets on when - so we're having it tonight, so help me.

Splenda is supposed to be really good for cooking - the best I had back in the day was nutrasweet, and it was VERY good compared to nothing or saccharine.

I'm sneaking off the little single serving packets for experimenting -

Splenda is terrific for cooking, and for making jam, too, if you have the right pectin. My Splenda jams are made similarly to my sugar jams, with the same fruits and additions (chocolate, ginger, you know) in the same proportions, just made with low-methoxyl pectin and Splenda instead of sugar. Everybody loves them, especially those I know who, like us, ought to stay away from the sugary jams.

I have a 14-cup box of whole raspberries in the freezer, just waiting for me to make Splenda raspberry-chocolate jam for Charles. He'll love that.

I love smoked oysters on crackers. Triscuits, even better. Potato chips too. :)
