Okay, got the call -

I should go back and see how long this process *really* has taken - nearly two years, from the first orientation, I think.
The problem now is how to handle them - because most likely, we will have our placements outside their system before they can offer anything to us.
It'll have to wait until I get home - there's no way I'm going to try and do this over phones while both of us are at work.
But holy merde. I don't want to think how expensive this has been yet. For essentially - nothing.

I knew that there was a certain amount of paperwork and waiting involved, but I have to admit I never realized quite how bad this whole process was until I read some of your chronicles.. it's sorta amazing to me now that anybody ever does it at all.
