Mentally, more than physically, I think. Not sure.

Yesterday was a death march that began with the car almost not starting at home...and then not starting at all once I got to work. Jim had a day off yesterday, but had errands to run (getting our absentee ballots and taking his DD214 to the loan office, for example) so he drove us both in.

And then, the car won't start. Looks like the key cylinder is toast - not the battery or starter. No matter. The truck is here, but has a dead battery. Right. I spring into action - calling AAA and telling them they have two cars to take care of. We jump the truck and leave it running, and put the car on the hook and tow it to a Ford dealership I find on the internet - and while that is going on (Jim goes with the car to the dealership to get the paperwork done), I get work done to a place where I can be gone - and find a coupon for a free car rental day, make a reservation...go get the still-running truck...discover it needs gas...and drive it to the gas station, crossing my fingers that it would start again once I turned it off.

I actually considered leaving it running while pumping gas.

But, it started again. Hurrah. Drive like mad to find this dealership I've never been to (and don't forget, the brakes on the truck are a bit dicky right now - the rear wheels tend to lock up and skid if you slam on the brakes), find Jim and drive to LAX to pick up rental car. Crossing fingers that I have enough space on a credit card...and I do. Whew.

He goes to drive to San Bernardino, I take the truck back to work. No lunch. Too stressed to think about it.

Drive the truck to the train station, fish out change for a train ticket and go to the end. Jim is already there. We then begin driving back - we have an appointment to deal with that DD214 and mortgage financing at 7:30 - 8:00 ish. No, the day is NOT over.

We stop and gobble down buffet food.

We arrive on time, to discover both the financing agent and the real estate agent have left messages at home that they'd like to reschedule. At 6:45 PM. We have not been home yet and inform them. We sit and wait while our finance agent deals with the closing of a sale - Mom with at least three kids, the youngest about one. VERY cute. We forgive them, for now.

But we got home after 9:00 PM.

Tonight? We put the house on the market - the agent wants to take pictures. We'll see. I see a lot of clutter lying about. THAT, will have to be dealt with. We can't leave socks laying around while the house is on the market, oh no no no!

Feh.

Dazed, confused and full of Vanilla Coke. Stay tuned.

soon, you'll be in hawaii, trying to make the terribly tough decision between a pina colada or a blue hawaiian. ;)
