I know for whom the fangirl squees....
Sep. 12th, 2006 01:10 pmBack at work. At about 60% or so - sorry, the cat-like reflexes and blinding intellect are on hiatus. Deal.
You know, there's only one thing worse than endless episodes of Inu-Yasha - and that's daytime television. Even on the weekends. I have satellite - I have about a thousand channels. ALL CRAP. Some of them, are duplicated upwards of four times in that thousand, I'll have you know. BAH THREE TIMES.
So.
I did happen to catch a very nice samurai soap opera, subtitled. Yes, I'm a sop for costumed serials. In small doses.
*ow* My head hurts. This is not a normal thing - and the best indicator that Something Is Not Right. Donna does not get headaches. I get a headache, I'm sick.
Failing the couch cushion Tetris test is another dead giveaway. I really dislike this most intensely. I got stuff to do.
And while I can really see the mass appeal of this anime? Damn, there's a lot of it.
Another thing? Having time to think on fan fiction projects isn't really good because that makes one drag out the old Ranma 1/2 DVDs to refresh your memory.
GHADAM that's a ugly anime. PHEW.
Why yes, yes I do write Ranma 1/2 fan fiction. Go ahead. Then shut up. There's actually a lot of really Good work out there - of course, you have to sift through a lot of shite to find it...but some of you dig that sort of thing, so I don't worry too much. You want some places to go where the fic is better (and more believable) that the work...just ask me.
There are a lot of reasons that makes sense - the original work is intended as a laugh-track most of the time. Problem is, you strip that away and there's a lot of good meaty stuff that makes writing in that world so much fun. But - I haven't been back in so long, picking up the pieces takes a lot of thinking.
For when I have time - I remember that project swallowed up my spare time better than Sims 2 currently does. I was good - I did my backups this week. I also did some basic clean up on the machines to get rid of the "WTF is this doing on my machine" files and incorporating most of the downloads into iTunes on the Mac (and copying into music folders for play inside Sims2). Yes, you post it, I play it while Simming. Ain't the internet grand?
Going in search of people I must talk to today - then going home. Hey, you know what McDonald's is good for? Getting all your points in one meal when you're sick - that's what. I'll leave the rest to your imaginations.
