Exactly why I watch the BBC World News instead of anything from a US station. Also, Greenspan said today that private investors AND central banks are switching from the dollar to the EURO.

This is really bad news for our economy. Of course, last month someone noted that Latin American drug dealers had already swapped to the Euro and wouldn't deal in US dollars. Combined with the housing market slump, this is officially the beginning. The stock market is up as the excess liquidity from real estate speculators seeks somewhere else to be.

I saw that. Its scary but somehow not a surprise. Forest spent a few weeks in the US as you know and one of his first comments to me was that the tv news was weird because it didn't seem to include much, you know, news, except what had happened 2 miles up the road. TV news is often bad though, for something like Newsweek to compromise? Not a good sign :(
