Okay, those of you I texted yesterday?

I lied.

Fireworks in Manhattan Beach are next Sunday. Want to do dinner earlier? I recommend it - the fire department hosts a fund raiser of a spaghetti dinner, and this year the recipients of the fund raiser is going to be the businesses gutted by fire a few weeks ago.

(I'm a CERT volunteer for Manhattan Beach. I also work for Skechers. Put those two things together, and the end result is a lot of very comfortable feelings towards both the fire and police departments in town. The fact my boss is a volunteer for the departments doesn't hurt either.)

Dinner begins about 4:00 or so - $5 per, $3 per for kids. The more, the merrier - and the best viewing. (Took apositivevoice out for fireworks a couple of years ago - ask her. This stuff rocks!)

ALSO.

If you need shoes, NOW NOW NOW is the time to ask me for them. No kidding. Company is allowing me a lot of holiday-related junkets - mostly what I need is size, gender and age if you're talking about kids. This period has very well-defined deadlines, so please act now. (elfwench, don't worry about Keeper. He's covered - but I wouldn't mind if if we tried, at least, for you. *winks*)

And now, I get my day underway. Watch me turn into a blur.

yay - i'm at Crystal's and will be in boston until monday am so was worried I was going to miss it. Next Sunday I have plans too, but those are more flexible so I'm hoping I can work something out! Also, will let you know about the shoe situmation.

Unfortunately, I think because of timing issues, I really unsure that I will have time to do it before Saturday. What I'd suggest for now, is that if you think a sale is coming up sometime in January or later, let's shoot for that.

This time of year, the company allows me to order more pairs on the employee shoe purchase program. Since I can't wear more than one pair at a time (and neither can Jim), I try to put the extra resources to good use.

This year, the company has hit me with both Family Days and a bigger allowance at the same time. The worst thing I can offer is 50% off - if you need shoes, now is the time to talk to me about getting some. Go out to our website and get some ideas - email me the details. I need at least your size and color preference. If you ask me to pick the style, groovy. If you want to chose the style, the style number is what I need as well.

We need to get out of the house some tomorrow anyhow, so we will go down to Shoe Carnival (where they sell Sketchers) and do some trying on and get back to you with a size for me tomorrow. This is really appreciated because for some reason the shoes I got this summer from Wally World are now fitting oddly. And with the shoe inserts, yeah, differences in fit are really noticed.

Oh, I deal with those guys all the time. Be nice to them! *grins* Ask them if they have any styles you like in the extra-wide versions, to allow for the inserts.

LOL They had one style in the Extra Wide... Well, two, but one had elastic in place of a tongue and I couldn't get my foot in on that account. The lace up one was Premium - EW (Style: 1728EW), size 7EW. And that fit perfectly.

Looking at the web page and judging by what I tried on, and what I see on the web site under EW's these would also work well in size 7EW:


Snow Creek - EW (Style: 76224EW)
Energy - EW (Style: 2250EW)
Soft Stride - Softie EW (Style: 76033EW)

All four have the larger toe box, the wide firm sole, and the sturdy sides and they all lace up with tongues to make it easier to get into.

I'm actually not 100% sure how the weekend is going to go. I'm supposed to start at Sega on Monday. Tad wants me to go to Vegas with him on Saturday, but he isn't returning until Monday. What I do over the actual weekend depends on whether Sega will let me start on Wednesday instead, or whether I can find a rideshare directly back from Vegas on Sunday. If neither of these happen, I will probably stay in LA until Sunday midday. I'll keep you posted.

What's the most common store where I can try on some of the kinds of shoes you have available? I know not all shoe companies have identical sizes...
