Getting tired of red and green? Me too. Even with the addition of a LOT more blue into the holiday schemes - my eyes are getting tired.

And life has to be HELL for red/green colorblind folks. I'm just saying.

So. Because I can, and it makes sense to do so - I hereby offer three offerings of ORANGE FOOD.

Alton Brown's Carrot Slaw (I'd strongly suggest you get this down now if you want it - links on Food Network tend to expire.)

My favorite way to make sweet potatoes for the holidays.

And the last one from the buds at WW -

Take one 16 oz can of solid pack pumpkin, one container of the sugar-free, fat-free Cool Whip and one package of either cheesecake or vanilla sugar-free instand pudding.

Mix together. Add pumpkin spice (I'd start with a teaspoon), to taste.

Put into glasses, top with more Cool Whip. (The whole recipe points out to 8, four servings? 2 points each.)

If I hadn't promised pumpkin pie for our annual Holiday Feast, I'd probably make that pumpkin dessert. As it is, though, that needs to be made same-day, or so it looks, and pumpkin pie can be made tomorrow for serving on Saturday. I have enough stuff to cook on Saturday! Anything I can make ahead is a good thing.

You guys are invited, any year you want to come up. We roast a goose, bake a salmon, and the rest is subject to change every year. This year:
Hot spiced cider and possibly mulled blackberry wine
Crudites with dip
Goat cheese with crackers
Home-made cookies
Roast free-range goose with gravy
Baked wild Alaskan king salmon (possibly salal-rosemary salmon)
Green beans with toasted slivered almonds and pine nuts
Mesclun (mixed organic greens)
Mashed organic potatoes, a mix of red potatoes and Yukon Golds
Pumpkin pie
And whatever everybody else brings as a potluck contribution.

We haven't run out of food at a Holiday Feast yet. :-)
