More orange. I have a thing for oranges at Christmas - it must be the HUGE naval orange I always got in my stocking Christmas morning, along with the goil foil coins and peanuts in the shell. Christmas, to me, tastes like chocolate, oranges and peanuts together....

Orange Scented Hot Chocolate
Ingredients:

* 2 cups Milk
* 4 oz chopped bittersweet or semi-sweet Chocolate
* 3 2-inch strips Orange peel (orange part only)
* 1/2 tsp instant Espresso or regular coffee powder
* 1/8 tsp ground Nutmeg

Mixing instructions:

Combine all ingredients in heavy medium saucepan. Stir over low heat until chocolate melts. Increase heat and bring just to a boil, stirring often. Remove from heat and whisk untily frothy. Return to heat and bring to boil again. Remove from heat, whisk until frothy. Repeat heating and whisking once again. Discard orange peel. (Can be prepared 2 hours ahead. Let stand at room temperature. Before serving, bring just to boil, remove from heat and whisk until frothy.) Pour hot chocolate into coffee mugs. Makes 2 servings.

My grandma told me, once, when I was a grown up, that the reason we always got at least a tangerine if not a big orange (we used mom's socks for stockings, they couldn't hold huge oranges!) in our stocking was because when she was growing up in rural Pennsylvania in the teens, kids only got oranges around Christmas-time, they were expensive and shipped from Florida by train. Thus, an orange, an impressive treat, went into the stocking.

I love them, too. Any kid I have, if ever, will have an orange in the toe.

I doubt Tej would enjoy the espresso part though. Do you think it'll taste okay without the espresso for him and my mom?
