I'd love suggestions on what kind of baby afghan to make. One, I want it to be knitted - I already crochet, and this is a good time to learn how to knit well. I could manage a ribbed pattern, but pretty please - think of my sanity. Suggest away -

I still have a lot of the work my mother and Cliff's grandmother knitted for me. Knitting is love, yo.

I am less than one pound away from goal - and making dinner tonight.

[Poll #903653]

I also think I might have found a good way to get over my "WAH no familiar Sims!" issue for the laptop game - The Apocalypse Challenge. Why so ideal? I get to populate Pleasantown all over again with my own Sims. Bwahahaha.

Or maybe I should take the opportunity and build my first custom neighborhood. I'll name it Hemet and make it look like Strangetown/Radiator Springs. Ah, nostalgia.

What? Yeah, I grew up with a rock lawn for my front yard (that's rocks, glued in place and sprayed green to look like grass - yes, they still do that out there) - so what of it? Neener.

Note to self - Self, it's nice to have variety on the sweets table, but when you bring in the leftovers to work and they're still working on them (looks at calendar) two weeks after the fact? Too. Much. Food.

Oh, you don't want to know what I threw away. Why yes, yes I did lose weight over the holidays, why do you ask?

Weather gorgeous. Wish you were here -

My parents briefly owned a place in Val Vista with a rock lawn. I hated it.

Oh, Hemet East? *chuckles* Oh, you know of what I speak...I really need to put some time aside and go have lunch at the Bread Basket Too up in Idyllwild. It's been too long.

Yes, Hemet East... on the way to that wonderful place called Idyllwild.

I have a neighborhood I slowly have worked on that I call Hogwarts. It has houses and characters from Harry Potter obviouslly. Then I just like building and designing and then letting the chaos of various 'pairings' occur.

Ah, let's hear it for evil pleasures. I heard tell of a whole site that did nothing but rebuild all the locations from the first SW trilogy - just for the ugly fun of killing Annakin over-and-over-and-over again yourself.

http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall03/PATThoover.html I thought you might like this, as it's an heirloom pattern with a great story behind it. Don't be daunted by the two colours; it's really just knit and purl.

Failing that, and if you can sew a little, http://www.knitty.com/issuesummer05/PATTwildstripes.html is an amazing modern blanket.

Yes, that indeed looks nifty - the second pattern doesn't make a large enough blanket, sadly.

But the first one - definitely has potential.

I was taken with the little story when I first saw it, so I remembered it quite well. :)

Are you thinking heirloom or practical, cos if the latter I do like the big bad baby blanket in stitch n bitch, done well in a nice yarn it looks like a lovely snuggly hard-wearing thing, though I've not made it myself of course..

Hi Donna,

My name is Annie, I 'met' you through snobahr's lj.
I've 'be-friend-ed' you, I hope you don't mind. ^_^.
It's nice to find someone from my generation!

Welcome! (I had a feeling this might happen - *snickers*)

Which province are you in, Alberta? I've at least been there a couple of times - you might check [livejournal.com profile] caitlin and [livejournal.com profile] terredancer, another pair of US Canadianophiles....

And anyone who knows me, know I love tea more than just about anything short of chocolate. *snickers*

The apocalypse challenge looks hard, but interesting. As for leftovers, we're actually almost through them- with exception of the coconut burfi, for some reason. Too rich, perhaps.

Oh, and where does one download the zombie family? I would love to have some zombies in game!

You can roll you own, if you have University and have a Sim who has the Paranormal career reward - just underpay the Grim Reaper to have someone resurrected and blammo - instant Zombie.

You have to get Zombies in this manner only - it doesn't breed.

Gah! I forgot to add that I'd like to learn how to knit too. Maybe we could learn together? Maybe [livejournal.com profile] caitlin could teach us, since she's really good at it? I don't know.

I think [livejournal.com profile] caitlin would beg to differ - but then again, she's modest.

We've got a bunch of knitters handy - we should do the SnB at MAH HOUSE. We should.

A nice, easy way to make a big blanket is to knit a number of squares -- just knit stitch, easy 'nuff -- and then sew them together. This is an example: http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/60160A.html If that doesn't take you to the right page, then it's the Country Cousins Blanket on the Lion Brand Yard site. The best part is, you can make it bigger by just making more squares. =D
