You have a list of sites you visit every day, right?

You w00t. You lie if you say you don't. You w00t and you love it.

[livejournal.com profile] poetpaladin tossed me a tip this morning - free software. No, not shareware.

Every day they offer licensed software you'd have to buy otherwise, for free.

Today's offering is a make-your-own-website software - if I can get home and get the laptop online fast enough, I might snag it and get the half-baked site up for real....

I'm sure there are recipe of the day sites - that sort of thing.

Anyone else have some favorites they'd like to share?

If you don't have time to grab the software, I just snagged a copy that I could upload to my site for ya.

Guess what. Got home.

Did taxes with Jim. Went out to dinner.

Came home, fell down (after Simming a bit) and went to sleep.

Yup. You were wise to snag it for me....

Guilty as charged - the only thing that would be worse is some kind of cheese or chocolate giveaway, neh?

There's still something like 9 hours. I think you'll get home in time.

*hugs you*

It has an RSS feed. They can add it to their friends list.

Thanks for posting the link. Funny though how the Home & Hobby freeware is mostly either sports or the psychic stuff!

I was tempted to woot that mp3 player. It's so cute and I like the expandable memory. Not getting it, though. :)

Somehow, I kind of expected that. *laughs*

We'll have to see how absolutely wonderful it is next time we get in the same room.

Hi, Noella here!! I just had to ask a few questions..you seem so well traveled, and fun.I am going to be in L.A on april 21-28...wondering what I can do while I am there for a getaway for maybe 2-3 days. I visit once a year, alone minus hubby...and visit my friend Barbara who i have been friends with since kindergarten!! She needs to get away, and just relax. Last year we camped in big surm went to the Hearst Castle,San obispo, hostels most of the time, which I loved. i just looked up Catalina Island, and find it very cool. We were going to go up to Lake Tahoe, but realized the temps are still very Cold there...eeks!! Would you think of Catalina as a decent choice or do you think of it as a tourist trap kinda place. Barbara is very down to earth and would hate that!!They compared it on the website as the closet thing to Hawaai! So I thought of you. Any thoughts on a 1-3 days getaway...not to far that we can drive? Is Catalina a thought at all? lol Id love your opinions.. Thanks.. and I throughly enjoy your blogging!! Noeldailey@yahoo.com email if youd like!!

You know, I love Santa Barbara as a place to lose a weekend - that, and Solvang up in the Santa Inez valley.

Catalina has the advantage of being totally "canned" - you get there, you do what they have for you to do. Touristy? Well, yeah. The Channel Islands as a whole are very, VERY cool - I wouldn't turn down another trip to Anacapa, for example - but 'like Hawaii?' Nah.

I will be here those dates - so my house is definitely available for a stop along the way.

It is pretty chilly at elevation, no matter where you go. If you're looking for mountains and scenery, we have it at Big Bear, Lake Arrowhead and Idyllwild - but we also have Palm Springs and environs, which at this time of year are at their best. (Go look up Joshua Tree National Monument. Does that appeal?) Any touristy area - and that's most of Southern California - has its down to earth places, where people like me live. But the touristy things are there for a reason - they allow a lot of people to see parts of the town quickly, even if it's only a cheap, shabby impression. You just have to recognize it for what it is, and find the alternatives.

What kind of things do you like? This time of year, there are also lots of events going on as well. (We have farmer's markets nearly every day of the week in different communities, for example.)

Thanks..

First off thanks alot for responding!! We are looking into a cabin in idyllwild and paolomar mts, they both look so cool.We did the Joshua tree thing last April and also camped out at Big Sur amonst other things. We had a ball! After talking to my friend Barbara, I dont think that we will be going to Catalina because she has a phobia of smaller boats /ferries. Who knew!! This girl is a world traveler! Ill look into the other places you mentioned and tell you whats shaking when we decide!! Thanks for opening your home for a stop on our way.You are so hospitable I love it!!
