Next weekend is also the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books (in collaboration with UCLA).

400 authors. Three signing areas - and the last time I went (only for about an hour, what an idiot), it was fabulous. Imagine three days of people reading reading reading - from their own works.

The event is free - you have to pay parking if you bring a car. Maybe I'll bring one car. I got four spaces leftover after me - anyone game?

Wanna tell Lee Iacocca something special? He'll be there Saturday. Oooh. Kirk Douglas! Elizabeth Taylor?

And I keep forgetting this happens every year.

Coachella isn't free except for parking. Okay, I feel better now.

Okay, I REALLY want to go to this. Julie Andrews, of all people (childhood idol) will be there, along with others. I REALLY REALLY want to go.

I'd carpool with you... although we're sort of on opposite sides of the county.

I'd really try to metro it in, except for one thing.

I know I'm going to be carrying books. Lots of them, both in and out. Having a place to store them, or not have to carry them a long way? Worth the price of parking - and the struggle of finding it in the first place - in Westwood.

Let me sweeten the deal. Come down, and we'll leave a bit earlier and have breakfast over there as well. Cait is already bunking in Friday night -
