Is this what I think it is?
May. 11th, 2007 07:11 amGot a nifty package from The American Consulate General yesterday. In Guangzhou, China.
"Congratulations! The U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services recently notified U.S> Consulate Guangzhou that the Department of Homeland Security has approved your petition to adopt an overseas orphan...."
The date on the letter is January 11, 2007. Lessee - yesterday was May 10th, right?
I think this is our login date - our LID. This is pertinent because the clock starts on our wait from LID date - and if that's the case, our first six months of waiting is nearly over.
Wait times right now are 16 to 18 months from LID - the last placement from our agency was on the 27th of April, with an LID of 10/27/05.
If this is the case - this is good. I thought our LID would be the last part of February - this is nearly a month earlier.
The other part is the undeniable tingle of this is going to happen. This is working. I can imagine anyone going through assisted TTC - if it feels anything like this when you finally 'catch' -
I can finally start thinking in terms of having someone else living here. Someone actually using that back bedroom for Space Of Her Own.
It isn't a matter of I can't wait - I can. I have. I will.
But I can almost see her at the end of this now. Even if she hasn't even been born yet. Kid, wherever you are - we're waiting for you. Here we are.
*sighs and taps foot* I hope this is what I think it is.
