Tuning Fork
Oct. 30th, 2002 01:43 pmUpdate: Making the offer for the house on Wilkie, we had to increase our offer $2000 over the list price. Here's why: since we're funding via VA instead of conventional, and only putting down $2000, we could be bumped by someone funding conventional and putting down $5000. Since this property has fallen out of escrow twice due to funding issues, the seller is nervous. Can't blame them.
So our offer is $2000 above the list. If that don't work, it won't be because we didn't try.
Already thinking little house of dreams dreams...what color to paint, what kinds of carpet to buy...where things will go (and not). Yardwork. Gardening. Oh, big time. The yards are planted mostly with grass that is about dead. Need to resod the entire thing, plant some rosebushes...and could I consider macadamia nut trees?
Jim wants this house. I know it will work, but needs work. It's doable.
Cross everything you got.
Likely, we'll arrive at the Manago tomorrow afternoon to find a fax waiting for us - either this will work or it won't, and if it doesn't, we go looking again.
Late night tonight. Hurry up and fax that offer paperwork so I can get it along, Steve. I want my lunch.
