kyburg | This place reminds me of Berkeley - which is Good, I like Berkeley -

VERY fast post - I've been back=120 so far, want to see everything and there is no fekking way. Giving up and putting this down while I have the chance.

There is internet access in two places - Mom's desk (which is where I am), and the pizzeria down near the college here in Berea. Period. I've had both my laptops plugged into the router here already. Not pretty.

I am the smallest person I've seen in four days. After working at a fashion company like I do for years, this is scary. (I'm smaller, but hardly the smallest person working in Los Angeles. *wink*)

People started eating nothing but salads after they sat down with me to eat the first time. I don't know if this is related, but it's pretty damn stupid if it is. You won't lose anything eating lettuce drowning in ranch dressing. NOTHING. Me? No salad. Two trips to Cracker Barrel so far.

I have also been female, and had one of the worst cases of gastroenteritis coming into this trip - so I was bleeding out both ends, thank you very much - why yes, I have been a little under par, thanks for asking.

The humidity is higher, the vegetation is lush and there are ROBINS here, so I am much pleased.

I have new music. I am stealing anything not nailed down and putting it on the laptop.

Jim's family are very kind, sweet, feisty folks. The reunion went exceptionally well. Will post pictures, don't let me forget.

Our rocking chair is on the way home to us - I've done as much shopping as I can right now, will go out later and get more candles and poke around some more in the land of handbuilt whatever.

Jim likely is napping. Tomorrow, we go home.

Tonight, we have dinner with some more total strangers. God help us.

When I get home, I'm heading straight for Marukai. I am blinded by all the white people, even though they aren't scaring me as much as they do at home. But I'm in the bluest part of Kentucky - and I know it. (Berea is also one of the most gorgeous campuses I've ever seen....)
