I'm a girl, hooray.

--

I've done at least five sinkfulls of dishes, all of them rinsed in hot water with BLEACH in it.

So glad I got some LUSH for that - Lemony Fluff, take me away!

But the dishes...*shakes head* The only thing I can think is that the poor woman had four sons and gave up ever trying to use the nice glassware she had. The items I can see hard use on? Have all been glued back together at some point.

There were two sets of Anchor-Hocking snack sets, 8 pieces each, new in the box - they're easily from the early 50's if not earlier. Think a plate long enough to hold cookies with a tea cup that fits into the impression made for it in the corner. Oh, these are going to get used in this house - make no mistake about it.

The consignment store wants all the items I photographed (!) - so now I have to get the books to the store on Wednesday, and figure out how to get the other items to Seal Beach for this other. (The fact they want to take them on makes me squee just because.)

Finding good homes for things. But it's a thing to make you rock back and go HUH at the same time.

I really REALLY wish she'd enjoyed using them herself.

I kept forgetting to ask... which teapot did you find matching stuff for?

Don't mind me, I'm suffering from a bump to the head. Self-inflicted, accidental, but there anyway.

*groans*

ARG. I forgot to show you when you were here - it's the mostly rose with royal blue accented hand-painted one in the middle bookcase.

Hit in the head? Don't tell me you pulled my old skating trick....

Ah. Cool.

As for the head, no, I was laying down to take a nap and hit my metal bedrails.

Eeeeee! Soupnsammich sets! I had many a lovely childhood luncheon with my sainted Nan sitting on the porch swing and using her soupnsammich plates.

It would be a rather dainty spot of soup - these aren't even coffee-mug sized cups - clearly either punch or tea cups.

I've never seen anything like them before - and I am totally in love with them.
