And so, the week-long orgy is over. We're getting on a plane to go back to Los Angeles in less than 6 hours.

Let me offer a paen to the Manago Hotel.

Best price on the island, bar none.

Best food in town, breakfast lunch or dinner. I know. We tried other places. Our last meal on the island will be there tonight.

The worst part is that nobody knows about the Manago Hotel. They know about Sheraton, Hilton and Hyatt - and timeshares by the score, and the Kohala Coast Resorts...and so on.

And completely miss the point.

Come to Hawaii - the Big Island - come to Captain Cook and see a real world of people living in service to others happily, willingly and only wishing to do more. Where art is a commodity, but not commercialized to blandness. Where agriculture provides a living. Where living is a pleasure unto itself, and doesn't need affluence to be comfortable and worthwhile.

I'm going to miss this place. But as I keep saying, it's not far. Just a long ride away.

I'll be back.

I'm torn between going to the Big Island and going to Kaui. Both sound really lovely. Just need to save up some bucks first.
