Well, damn. Setting aside any judgments people may have of him as a person. I have to note that it's a loss to have such a great performer go. Even though I knew he was ill, I still held out a faint hope of seeing him live someday.

You made me realize something. When you posted that, I didn't even think about it, I just set about writing something appropriate. It never occurred to me that it was nearly 2am and I really should be getting sleep, I just *had to write*. It was as natural as breathing.

I have *got* to get back to a setting where I can write again on a regular basis and contemplate getting paid for it.

Thanks. I needed that. It's sad to see another good one go, but if it means somebody else gets the kick in the ass to realize what's become a dream, then it will have meant something.
