Yes, EA put out the patch for Bon Voyage. I was good - I downloaded it and applied it, after I backed up my game. (What, I'm not stupid.)

It wouldn't apply. Worse, it warned me I "might" need to reinstall BV. HUH?

So I just loaded the game and played it. No change. No change whatsoever.

I'll wait for the Real Patch to appear - ETA, two weeks. Clock me. (Yes, EA put two patches out for Seasons - one that worked and one that didn't. Yay.)

I'm going to call Tech Support and offer up my game for examination. If I wasn't so damn OLD (they only want to talk to you about your game experience if you're 26 or younger. No, I'm not kidding), they might listen to me.

My game WORKS. ALL. THE. TIME.

Slow, sure. Transitions are go to the potty and get a cup of tea long, but. If the game crashes, I know why and it's usually related to my slightly older graphics adapter.

All those years of practicing safe disk. Wow. It's paying off. *eyeroll*

*sigh* Stupid marketroids, don't realize that the gamer community has grown up and now has grey at the temples (or in the beard)... they also think that LJ is for teenyboppers. (They also haven't figured out that half the non-techie IT departments and almost all of the accounting departments in the world have grandkids...)

I've never crashed my game either. Even my original one on the 98 system. Though I wouldn't dare run anything beyond University on it. I have had a few quirks, but for the most part haven't had extreme corruption like I've heard, and I always backup the families/neighborhoods before a new install. I think i still have the backup prior to pets somewhere on my hd. Gotta delete that someday.
