Beeswax for candles? Miller's Honey out in Colton has beeswax for a bit under $3 for an 8 oz. brick. For what I'm going to need, I'll have to go out there for it - shipping makes no sense and will be more expensive than gas.

Miller's Honey is at 125 E Laurel St., Colton, CA 92324 (909) 825-1722. They tell me the retail store is in the front.

Wow...that's pretty cheap! Is it pure cappings wax, consolidated comb, or the usual 10% mixed with paraffin?

You can call them and ask, but from what I understand, it's a honey company and this is the wax left from processing the cash crop...something of a side business. They have it, you want it - HAY.

So I'd think this is the 100% real deal.

Hmmmmm.... we just might need some sometime. Beeswax is also good in certain kinds of salve, among other things; it's used as a thickener. (I don't know if it's used in soap or not; jenkitty is the SME on that...) Good to know. (We *might* be able to get it closer, but I dunno... good to keep one's options open. And if we *can* get it closer, I'll try to remember to let you know in case *you* need an alternate source. I know there's a honey-maker out in Duvall that makes candles, but I dunno if she sells bulk.)
