My father's cousin is serving in Afghanistan, as an anesthesiologist. He's noticed that many Afghanis are too poor to buy shoes. Afghan winters being pretty miserable, and the ground being rocky and for the most part unpaved, this is a bad thing. Up until January 13th, I'm collecting donations of shoes to send over there. Mostly close-toed warm shoes, like sneakers or boots or loafers (sandals and dressy shoes are not so useful). They need them in every size, up to about a men's size 10. Let me know if you're able to donate anything, they could sure use anything you're willing to offer.
